Who We Are

A club built around the throwing circle, not around one age group.

Unincorporated Not-For-Profit Fiji Throwers Club

Champions of the Circle exists to promote, develop and support shot put and discus across Fiji — and, as the club grows, to expand into javelin, hammer and other recognised throwing events and athletic disciplines.

We run safe, inclusive and structured coaching, training and competition pathways for every thrower who steps into the circle, with a particular focus on children, youth, women and girls getting a genuine first shot at the sport.

01

Two Clear Pathways

Junior Members (up to 18) and Adult / Athlete Members (18+) train and compete on programs built for their stage, under one club.

02

Field Events First

Shot put and discus form the technical foundation, with javelin introduced as the club's capacity and coaching base grow.

03

Community Governed

Run by a Founding Steering Committee and Head Coach, not for private gain — every member has a stake in the circle.

Field events we throw

The circle starts with shot put and discus. Javelin, hammer and further throwing events join as the club's coaching capacity expands.

Core Event

Shot Put

Glide and rotational technique, coached from the 6lb / 4kg junior implement up through senior weights.

Core Event

Discus

Footwork, release angle and spin discipline built up through a progressive, age-appropriate ladder.

Expanding Into

Javelin

Introduced as run-up space, coaching and safety supervision come online for the club.

On The Horizon

Hammer & Beyond

Hammer and other recognised throwing disciplines, added as the Club's capacity grows.

One club, two divisions

Every member joins as either a Junior Member or an Adult / Athlete Member, with coaching pitched to that stage.
